A local businessman dammed a creek to power mills for his businesses. The town grew from there. It was eventually renamed in 1905 to honor E.G. Gillet, a local newspaper proprietor.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience renting this Class C RV for our family of 5! We took it to Fredericksburg and had a blast — the whole trip exceeded our expectations.
