Discover Humble, TX

Situated in the shadow of the city of Houston, the small city of Humble may have slipped off your radar but that’s no reason to leave it off of your search for an RV rental. The city is blessed with an average of 204 days of sunshine each year, summer temperatures of around 94 degrees and winters temperatures of approximately 24 degrees. The city offers plenty of sporting activities as well as an ample supply of restaurants and boutique stores.

This Texan city was founded in the early 19th century and takes its name from the founder of the city’s first post office, Pleasant Smith Humble. The small settlement boomed into a city during the 20th century when oil fields began to spring up all over the county. Despite its industrial background, Humble is a fantastic place to rent an RV and visit nearby sites. Within a short distance of the city is the Lake Houston Wilderness Park and Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center, while inside the city center visitors can escape to one of the four city parks or visit one of Humble’s Museums.

The city is located just 31 miles from the Gulf Coast in the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown Metro Area and can be reached in 20 minutes by taking the Interstate 69 north from Houston. The nearest airport is the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, located six miles away, or the William P. Hobby Domestic Airport which is 31 miles away.

The Great Outdoors

The first place you’ll want to visit once you’ve found the best RV rental near Humble is the Lake Houston Wilderness Park which is located less than 15 miles north of Humble. The park covers an area of almost 12,000 acres, where visitors can follow hiking and biking trails through the park or organize horseback riding on one of the park’s equestrian trails. The lake has been protected since 1954 and beneath its waters lives a variety of creatures including sunfish, largemouth, crappie, catfish, and white bass. Within the park, there are also a handful of basic campsites so visitors can spend a night under the stars, camping in the wilderness.

For something less wild, visitors can drive a Humble motorhome rental seven miles west of Humble to the Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. This extensive collection on native plant species covers an area of 300 acres and offers access to the Cypress Creek via canoe. Other recommended outdoor sites in the are the Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center and the Greens Bayou Wetlands.

Hopefully, if you’re planning to book an RV in Humble then you’re also a golfing fan because two miles north of the city center is the Humble Oil Patch Golf Center which is a practice patch with a nine-hole golf course, a driving range, and tee box area. Nearby, there are also public and private golf courses including the Cypress Golf Club which hosts two separate nine-hole courses.

RV Parks

While there are no RV parks in the Humble city center, there are plenty to be found in the surrounding area. Most parks in the region are fully equipped with 30 or 50-amp electrical hookups, sewer and water hookups, on-site restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, free WiFi, cell phone reception and pull-through sites. The East Lake RV Resort, close to the banks of Lake Houston, is a popular RV park which is conveniently located for visiting the main sites of Humble, Houston, or Spring, as well as the Lake Houston Wilderness Park, Greens Bayou Wetlands, and Sheldon Lake Skate Park. This site additionally offers guests pool and jacuzzi access, outdoor kitchen facilities, a camp store and recreational room with fitness suite. The same company also operate the North Lake RV Park a few miles south of Spring.

A recommended park for wildlife observations is the Lone Star Lake RV Park, which is on a private lake in New Caney with direct access to nature trails. Another camping option for the Humble camper rental is the Rayford Crossing RV Resort, which offers on-site fishing and organized activities.

The city of Humble may not be the largest on the map but it certainly fits a lot into its borders. Also, within a 20-minute drive are the Houston Water Works, the Escape it Houston rooms, and the Dylan Duncan Skatepark.

Visitors who like to enjoy the fresh air are in luck, as Humble is home to four city parks: Uptown Park, Timberwood Park, Hirsch Memorial Park, and Schott Park. On Wednesdays, Humble also hosts The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce weekly farmers market, where you can shop for freshly picked and locally grown produce to enjoy during the Humble, TX RV rental vacation.

Meanwhile, history enthusiasts will want to visit the Humble Museum and take a look in downtown Humble’s nine antique stores or visit the nearby village of Old Town Spring, a restored railroad town where visitors can find a number of art galleries dating back to the Victorian Era. What are RV rentals?

Renting an RV lets you enjoy the flexibility of RV travel without all the costs and maintenance of ownership. With a rental, you can book the perfect rig for any trip just like you would a car or hotel. With Outdoorsy, you rent directly from the RV owner but get the backing of programs like roadside assistance, insurance, and stellar support from real, live people 24/7.

How much are average RV rentals?

On average, you can expect to pay between $75 and $150 per night to rent most small trailers and campervans. Larger trailers and motorhomes could cost $100 to $250 per night. Renting an RV for a longer time can be even more affordable–a week or month-long rental could average out to less than $60 per day.

Are there RV rentals with unlimited mileage?

Yes! Each RV owner can choose whether to offer unlimited miles on their vehicles. You’ll be able to see if unlimited mileage is an option on any listing you check out. If unlimited miles are not available, you’ll be able to see what is included with the base rate and what extra miles will cost.

Are RV rentals pet-friendly?

Many RV owners allow pets in their rentals. Be sure to check the listing to see if it’s an option for the rig you have your eye on. You’ll be able to see if there is an extra deposit or fee for pets before you request a booking.

Do RV rentals offer delivery?

Having an RV delivered to your home or destination is a great way to simplify your trip. Many RV owners offer delivery and setup services, usually for an extra fee or within a certain distance of their location. Each listing shows whether or not delivery is an option.

Are there RV rentals near me?

RV rentals are available all over the country! Whether you want to pick up an RV near home to set out an epic road trip or if you want to have one ready at your destination, you can search by location for any type of rig.

RV rental vs buying?

Renting an RV is an affordable way to get all the benefits of RV travel without the maintenance and overhead of ownership. It’s also a great way to try out the lifestyle and different types of rigs before you take the plunge and buy your own. Already own an RV? Consider renting yours out to bring in some extra income.

How many people can sleep in an RV?

Small travel trailers and campervans can usually sleep 2-4 people comfortably. Mid-size trailers and motorhomes usually sleep 4-8. Bigger rigs often sleep 6-10, some even 12!

Why choose Outdoorsy vs Craigslist or Airbnb?

Security, for one. Outdoorsy helps protect RV owners and renters with excellent support and insurance options, and a secure platform for listings, communication, and payments.
