Getting Outdoors

With five public boating ramps dotted along Lake Granbury’s 100-mile shoreline, there are plenty of opportunities to get out and about on the calm waters. The City Boat Ramp, located just off Route 377, is one of the most accessible launch areas and is open for public use all year round. This boat ramp is one of the busier sites, so head down to Thorp Spring or Hunter Park if you are keen to hit some of the more private coves and bays. Those who are motorhome camping without their own vessel can hire boats and other water sporting equipment at the marina, which is just a five-minute drive from the center of town. Alternatively, let someone else do the steering by signing up for a scenic riverboat tour!

Camping at Lake Granbury

Whether you want to set up camp close to town or in a secluded spot close to the water’s edge, RV camping at Lake Granbury is easy. Those who prefer to be within walking distance of shops and amenities should consider staying in Rough Creek Park. Found just south of Granbury, the campground also provides prime access to the Lake Granbury Marina. There are no hookup facilities in the park, but restrooms are provided for all campers.

Exploring the Area

Those camping with a motorhome in Lake Granbury will not have to wander too far to find some of the area’s most popular attractions. In fact, the town of Granbury is home to one of the county’s best theaters. Restored to its former beauty in 2012, this theater originally opened its doors in 1886, when it operated solely as an Opera House. Nowadays, the theater organizes a schedule of live musicals and stage plays to entertain the whole family. Check out the theater's website to see what’s on show during your visit!

My son and I took this for 4 days to drive around Texas and Louisiana. We had a great time with this vehicle! The owner Ben was very communicative, and the hand off and return were smooth.
