Getting Outdoors

Recreational activities are popular on the lake throughout the year, with the cooler months of fall and spring being the most popular time for renting an RV at Lake Nocona. Those that have bought their own boat with them can use one of the three boat ramps found on the edge of the lake that are open all year round. Rent a boat from one of the park’s marinas for half-day, full-day or multi-day use. Although no watercraft is possible on the lake due to the strictly enforced speed limit on Lake Nocona, this is the perfect place for a serene day of kayaking or canoeing.

Camping at Lake Nocona

RV camping at Lake Nocona is possible at all three of the parks that sit on the shoreline. Providing campers with full hookup facilities, Weldon Robb Park is the most popular of the three. Situated on Lake Nocona’s western banks, those who set up camp with their rental RV here will enjoy unbroken views of the lake. Despite these luxuries, the rest of the campground lacks basic facilities such as washrooms, picnic tables, and grills. Therefore, this campground comes highly recommended for the self-contained campers only. Boone Park and Joe Benton Park are situated on the north and eastern shores of Lake Nocona and boast similar amenities. These free and non-reservable campsites offer no hookup facilities for travelers. Instead, there are simple washroom facilities and handy picnic tables.
