Waller was home to two different tribes of indigenous people for thousands of years before the Spanish explorers passed through the area, but no permanent settlement was created by Europeans until the latter half of the 19th century. Waller shares a name with Waller County and was named for Edwin Waller, the first judge in the county.

Over the years, this tiny ranching community has blossomed into a full-fledged suburban area with a steadily growing population as a result of the ever-expanding Houston metropolitan area spreading farther and farther out. Waller proves to be an exceptional place to rent an RV for a variety of reasons, most notably its central location in one of the country’s largest states. The beautiful Gulf Coast is close by to the southeast, and many of the state’s best parks and forests can be found in the immediate area.
