Curl your toes into the coffee-colored sands at Lake Elmore and bask in the rising sun before taking a refreshing dip into the aquamarine waters. If you can pull yourself away from the alluring lake, then lace up your hiking shoes for a journey up Mount Elmore, where spectacular sights await you. Travel through rugged woodlands for just under two miles and come out on top where a fire tower awaits you at the summit. Got the kids with you? Grab an educational brochure from the park and stroll the half-mile Mountain Brook Nature Trail, designed as a display of local history. Keep an eye out for numbered posts which contain a plethora of educational information on topics from Vermont’s forest history to vibrant wildflowers. Although motorhome camping here is primitive – meaning there are no hookups available – the park does offer flush toilets, drinking water, coin-operated hot showers, and a dump station. Nearby activities include two horseshoe pits, an amphitheater, and a playground.
