Washington State is much more than Seattle. As such, book a luxury rental RV to the most charming city, Naches. And, in case you were wondering, Naches is pronounced “nat-cheese.”

Naches is really tiny like 795 total residents tiny. But, don’t let that deter you; big city living in Yakima is only 12 miles east. Naches sits in the Naches Valley at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains along the Naches River; they’re really creative with their names around these parts. What the area may lack in size and numbers is made up for in the copious amounts of fruits produced annually. The city is a supplier of common fruits like cherries, apples, and pears. So, take the bite, you’ll have a pretty sweet time by taking your Naches motorhome rental to the festivities.

Discover Naches

The Great Outdoors

Washington is known for their expansive forests and massive trees whose canopies filter the sunlight enough to encourage an abundance of flora and fauna to thrive. Seeing as though Naches neighbors the Cascades, it’s only fitting to at least take a quick exploration while in the area with your rental RV. There are a few trailheads located within Naches so lace up your boots and apply that bug spray. Natural wonders await you.

Parts of Naches and the surrounding Yakima County fall into the 4 million-acre expanse of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This place is no joke; everything runs wild here. Swing by the Naches Ranger Station in your camper rental from Naches for a little insight on how to approach such a vast, untamed space. Before setting out be 100% certain you have everything you need and maybe some extras.

Believe it or not, White Pass Ski Resort calls Naches home. The resort itself pulls tourists and ski enthusiast in year round. No matter the season Mount Rainier will provide you with an experience to remember. White Pass even offers onsite childcare, so pass the kids off and hit the slopes. You deserve some stress-free fun too!

It’s good to note that there’s equal opportunities to explore on foot and behind the wheel, so don’t feel pressured if hiking isn’t your cup of tea. Both the White Pass Scenic Byway and Chinook Scenic Byway allow you to cruise around Yakima County in your rental RV at your leisure. The views are stunning, and there are various pull off points along the way to pause the journey and snap those pictures. You’ll traverse a couple different national forests. There are, of course, many hiking opportunities along the way for those that just can’t stay off the trails.

RV Parks

Now, of course, the surrounding Yakima County also has a plethora of prospective campsites too. You did choose the Washington wilderness after all. Stay on the river in Ellensburg or choose Yakima for its obvious proximity to the downtown. Whatever experience you want, the town will accommodate.

Exploring the City

Naches is small; we’ve already established this fact. However, that isn’t to say that there’s nothing worth seeing. If you enjoy a good adult beverage, local brews are available at a few spots in town or spend an afternoon tasting some wines at the Naches Heights Vineyard.

Of the businesses calling Naches home, the majority are eateries. The local food scene here is worth the calories, especially if you’ve spent the day hiking, Sip coffee at the bakery, grab a deli sandwich to go or have a sit-down dinner with the quiet atmosphere encouraging conversation.

Yakima is the closest major metropolitan area and is easily accessible from Naches in your travel trailer rental. This bustling city comes complete with all the shopping, cultural and historical learning, locally source cuisine, and much more. Come for the nightlife or plan a whole day. Yakima County is a special group of towns and cities all offering something different.
