If you plan to do some camping at Rangeley Lake State Park, be prepared for seclusion. There are no electrical or water hookups, pull-through driveways, or sewer hookups on-site. Wi-Fi also isn't available for Rangeley Lake State Park campers; however, you might be lucky and get some service through select major cell phone providers. There are 50 sites to choose from, some of which accommodate big rigs. Dogs are permitted as long as their leash doesn’t extend past four feet and they're well-behaved. The campsites all have water access to Rangeley Lake and are set against the exquisite backdrop of Saddleback Mountain. While you're camping in a motorhome at Rangeley Lake State Park, you'll have access to showers and toilets as well as a picnic area and a playground for the kids.

Just outside of the park along Route 27 is Kingfield and Carrabassett Valley. Connected to Sugarloaf Ski Resort, this area provides outdoor activities for visitors all year long. Ski, snowmobile, or snowboard during the winter months, hike through the vibrant color-changing leaves in the fall, or visit one of the museums in the area during the summer. If you happen to be visiting in July, make sure to check out the Festival of the Arts in downtown Kingsfield. Or head south towards Rumford and River Valley. This area is known specifically for the Black Mountains of Maine, boasting over 1,300 feet of mountain to ski, snowboard, or tube down. Bring the family, because there are slopes for all skill levels. Rentals are available on the mountain itself, and trails range from beginner to expert. There are 23 trails to keep you moving all day long, and when the skiing is done, there's a nice warm fireplace lodge to warm your tired bones. If you’re looking for a fun college town to visit, look no further than Farmington, Maine. Farmington is home to University Maine Farmington and is surrounded by agricultural farmland. The downtown area is full of shops, museums, and galleries of local artists. Catch a movie or see a concert while you’re in the area. Maybe climb the Titcomb Mountain or take a walking tour. If you happen to be visiting during the month of September, you might be able to catch the Farmington Fair. Once your RV camping trip has concluded, it’ll be time to fill up your bellies and refill the gas tank. There isn’t too much available near the park, but if you drive just 20 minutes, you’ll start seeing signs for gas stations. If you’re looking for food, Rangeley Lake is surrounded by lovely local restaurants. Then, you can steer your RV rental north towards Canada, west towards New Hampshire, or south towards Augusta.
