A boat launch is located within the park for direct access to the lake. Many visitors spend the day on the lake canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or motorboating. Visitors without their own boat can rent kayaks from the park office. Fishing is allowed from the shore or boat. There's even a lighted fishing pier and a fish cleaning station so campers can cook their catch for dinner. Lake Bob Sandlin is well-stocked with catfish, crappie, and largemouth bass. Anglers can also cast their lines in the aptly named Trout Pond or Brim Pond. Camping at Lake Bob Sandlin State Park also provides excellent opportunities for an early morning hike. Over three miles of wooded hiking and biking trails wind throughout the park. The Lakeview Loop Trail will lead hikers past the Brim Pond. The Fort Sherman Cemetery is located within the park and dates back to at least 1838. Bring along your hiking boots or your mountain bike to explore the trails of the park.
