Prime waves can be found in the Huntington State beach between late spring, summer and into the fall, note only advanced surfers should test these waters since there are potentially dangerous conditions. When not surfing you can enjoy the wildlife at the Snowy Plover Reserve which is located at the southern end of the beach between Talbert Channel and the Santa Ana River, this is home to endangered species such as the California Least Terns and the Snowy Plover. A linear day use park over one mile long and 140 acres, situated in the mouth of Santa Ana Canyon in the city of Anaheim.
