The Great Outdoors

Situated in the Sacramento Valley near the Sierra Nevada, Antelope is just minutes away from some of the best parks in California. Folsom Lake State Recreation Area is just a short drive from the city, and visitors to the park can enjoy stunning views of the Sierra foothills while hiking or biking on over 30 miles of multi-use trails. Visitors to the park can also enjoy boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities.

RV Parks

Antelope’s convenient location near a major city and numerous parks make it easy for visitors to find the RV park of their choice. If you want to stay among nature with the Antelope RV rental, check out Folsom Lake State Recreation Area, Auburn State Recreation Area, and Eldorado National Forest. At Folsom Lake, you’ll find an excellent balance between the great outdoors and great basic amenities like hookup options, a dump station, and modern restrooms. Camping at Auburn is much more limited. The park has a handful of available campgrounds with no hookups, and large vehicles may not be able to access the campground areas. Eldorado National Forest also has a number of campgrounds that are RV-accessible, and the three closest ones are Camino Cove, West Point, and Stumpy Meadows. Stumpy Meadows is probably the best spot to consider parking the Antelope travel trailer rental since it offers limited amenities like drinking water and a dump station, and the other two are best suited for smaller RVs. If you do decide to camp in the national forest, check to make sure that the campgrounds are open since they may close during or after inclement weather.

Exploring the City

In addition to being a hub for outdoor adventure, Antelope also has plenty to do in and around the city. Since Antelope is between Sacramento and Roseville, two major cities along I-80, you’ll find everything you need in the surrounding area from chain retailers to great restaurants. Museumgoers can check out the Aerospace Museum of California in neighboring McClellan, or they can head into Sacramento to check out the California State Railroad Museum.

We had an outstanding trip to the mountains in the Cali Camper. The van feels new, is super clean, handles well and was equiped with everything we needed. It was our first excursion in a camper van and Dan's orientain and support during our trip made it easy. Pickup and dropoff was smooth and easy - that was especially appreciated at the end. Thanks, Dan!
