Caspar Beach RV Park & Campground

Book an RV in Mendocino County, and you are all set to enjoy an epic adventure in your new home-on-wheels. Your first destination: Jackson State Forest. The park is an old-growth redwood forest with some fir and conifer tree stands, and an epic spot for hiking and mountain biking. If you do venture out into the woods, you should wear some kind of bell, so the wildlife will hear you coming (this can prevent some unpleasant, surprise situations from occurring). You should plan ahead by using mosquito repellent and wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants. You can also drive your RV rental through the park as there are a number of roads that cut through. Cell phone reception in the park may be weak or non-existent. Mendocino Headlands State Park is a seaside nature preserve with rugged shorelines, isolated beaches, and miles of trails that dissect the park. Some of the trails pass along beach-side cliffs providing spectacular ocean views and the possibility of spotting passing whale pods. The trails provide an opportunity to observe the resident wildflowers and other plant species; painters and photographers come here in large numbers to capture the beauty of the area. If you park your RV rental nearby, you can enjoy a hot beverage and snack in between your outdoor adventures. While you're visiting, be sure and drop by the visitors center in Mendocino, which is located in the historic Ford House. South Cow Mountain OHV Recreation Area is a nature preserve that has been specifically designated for outdoor vehicles such as dirt bikes and four-wheel-drive vehicles. Camping and hunting are also allowed within the park, but all visitors should be aware and exercise caution while in the area. Hiking in the park is not necessarily forbidden, and there are trails where you can hike, but if you intend to hike here, understand that the designation means that the outdoor vehicles have preference.
