It used to be a fruit-shipping station of the Sacramento region, a tradition that's honored today in festivals and in keeping with its small-town charm and character. Bisected northeast to southwest by I-80, Loomis gets you close to the Sierra Mountains and El Dorado National Forest 30 miles east of town, and Lake Tahoe 95 miles away in the same direction.

Lake Tahoe or Pacific Coast Highway?

Loomis' location near the Sierra-Nevada foothills has its advantages. Here, you don't have to venture far to hike, bike, ride horses, water ski, and fish for trout, bass, and catfish. Find an RV rental near Loomis and drive it to Folsom Lake State Recreation Area a few miles to the south and enjoy your fair share of the outdoors. The campgrounds here also welcome RVs so you don't have to rush your visit.

Where to Park Your RV

Less than a mile south of the town center, you'll find a shaded RV campground where big rigs are welcome. Amenities abound so you can expect a pleasant stay. There are also a handful of options within five to 10 miles, and plenty more within a 25-mile radius, all the way southwest to Sacramento. Consider bringing your Loomis motorhome rental to Folsom Lake for an outdoor camping experience while still staying close to the comforts of the city.

Experience Loomis’ Small Town Charms

True to its roots, Loomis honors its agricultural tradition by holding an annual Eggplant Festival held in early October. If you haven't tried eggplant hamburgers, eggplant tacos or eggplant parmesan, Loomis is the perfect place to go to sample these unique fares. More than food, the celebration is also a way to strengthen the community's “small town, big family” feel so activities are designed for everyone regardless of age. The 21+ crowd, of course, will find that Loomis has more than eggplants to offer. Local wineries are well-represented so if you're hoping to sample wines from the region, the Eggplant Festival is a good time to come.

This trip went off without a hitch! Justin was communicative and got back to us immediately any time we needed him. Was flexible with us when we asked, and the RV was stocked with many supplies that we might need! It was a great trip and we couldn’t have done it without Justin’s Minnie Winnie!

This camper was a perfect fit for our stay at the Golden State Pinball Festival at the Lodi Grape Festival. Comfortable for a couple and one adult. Super clean and we appreciate the setup at the campground, since we were traveling to the destination from Idaho. The insider tips from the host were spot on. We enjoyed two restaurant recommendations and a nice bottle of local wine. Thank you! We hope to rent again for the festival next year.

Great time dry camping for HS mountain bike championships. Diego is quick to communicate and the trailer is easy to tow. Worked out so well for our family.
