Visitors can walk through the garden toward the bluffs, where they can admire the ocean. Art enthusiasts will want to make the 30-mile trip up the Pacific coast to visit Mendocino Art Center. Photography, sculptures and pottery, woodwork, and stained glass are only a few of the pieces you may see in the galleries here. Mendicino Art Center offers more than 150 classes for a variety of mediums, as well as fun events and special shows. Need more time in the great outdoors? Head two hours east to Mendocino National Forest. This vast wilderness encompasses nearly one million acres of alpine lakes, mountain peaks, and quiet woodlands.
