Explore the Outdoors

It is certainly a difficult task to find a few parks and recreation areas to explore while you rent an RV for vacation, as there are so many wonderful places to choose from in the north of California. Take Folsom Lake, for example, a large lake northeast of Sacramento with over 75 miles of shoreline and a bevy of campgrounds and recreation areas. You could rent an RV in McClellan Park and spend your entire trip at Folsom Lake and never once feel as though you have missed out on other adventures. Folsom Lake State Recreation is a cherished camping area that you can stay at with your McClellan Park camper rental and is known as one of the most visited parks in the state of California. Lake Oroville to the north is very similar to Folsom Lake, surrounded by a handful of individual recreation areas. Foreman Creek, Potters Ravine, Craig, and Loafer Creek are a few of the recreation areas that can be enjoyed on the shores of Lake Oroville, and all four have delightful campgrounds too. Guests can go hiking, swimming, mountain biking, or fishing for salmon and bass in one of the region’s best fishing lakes. There are two high powered telescopes for park guests to use at nighttime, as well as a fun museum that offers information and insight into the natural history of Lake Oroville and beyond.

RV Parks to Visit

You shouldn’t panic if you are worried about finding a suitable campground near McClellan Park, there are plenty of nice and cozy places to stay the night when you rent an RV.

Around Town

McClellan Park is not really a conventional town. This retired Air Force base is a lovely place to rent an RV because of its ideally situated location just outside of Sacramento, the state of California’s capital. One of the only noteworthy attractions found in McClellan Park is the Aerospace Museum of California, a fabulous institution dedicated to educating the general public. Lots of topics are covered at this wonderful museum, like the solar system, the first airplanes, and more. There is even a professional flight simulator on sight that guests can try their hand at.

This was our first time renting an rv so I was a little apprehensive. I'm so glad we went with Justin. He was very accommodating with our pickup and drop off schedule. The trailer was loaded with everything you need for cooking including a Blackstone grill. I loved that big plush towels and wash cloths were included for showers. He also provided paper plates and plastic ware if you don't want to use the provided dishes. That made clean up a breeze. My husband appreciated the weight distribution hitch.
Thanks, Justin, for making our first experience a great one!

What a perfect van for a weekend escape. It was supplied with everything you could think of needing and then some. Jess was thorough in her introduction to the van and readily available via text to answer things I missed the first time. Pick up and drop off was easy at the airport. This van can support itself, thus we were able to use tent sites along the riverfront without hookups. I'll certainly rent it again next time.
