Explore the City

Moccasin originated as a company town in the early 1920s. Owned by Hetch Hetchy Water & Power, the town’s residents were the friends and family of employees at Moccasin Powerhouse. Prior to this, Moccasin had served as a camp for miners on the Big Oak Flat Road during California’s booming Gold Rush era. Nowadays, Moccasin is owned by San Francisco City and County and the community remains small, with very few commercial services available.

The trailer was perfect for our family of 3, and if you have a generator dry camping is no problem. Rachel was super accommodating, and we would definitely rent from her again.

Rented the Thor Four Winds RV which was the perfect size for our family of 4. We had a few hiccups at the start of the trip, mainly on how to work the RV, but Rita was very quick to respond and help us troubleshoot. The RV was clean inside and out and included sheets, blankets, pillows, basic dishes/pots, stove, plenty of storage space, nice size fridge/freezer, and microwave with a convection oven (only used the micro). We had an amazing trip with a comfortable ride along the way. Much better than the last RV we rented. Thanks Rita!
