While South Yuba River State Park doesn’t have a campground, those who wish to go motorhome camping here may stay in a nearby South Yuba Recreation Area. The rustic campground is surrounded by the forest and has six sites that can accommodate RVs that are up to 22 feet long. This camp offers just basic amenities such as toilets, picnic areas, and trash pick-up. Each site has a fire pit and a picnic table. No hookups are available here, but campers will have access to water. If you plan on building a campfire, you need to have a permit first. It is also important to mention that the South Yuba Recreation Area is not pet-friendly. The campground is open from early April to mid-October, depending on the weather. Reservations are not possible since the campground runs on a first-come, first-serve basis.
