Let's start with a few questions to narrow down your options.
Franktown is a city in Douglas County, Colorado and is the designated county seat. It originated in 1859, being named “Frank's Town” after the first settler to the area, James Frank Gardner. The name was officially changed to Franktown in 1961. By the early 1860s, stockades had been built to protect the community from Indian and Confederate soldier raids. The city organized its school district in 1865 and established its graveyard sometime before 1875 when it had its first burial. It also supplied timber to Denver and much of early Colorado, as well as the Kansas Pacific and Denver Rio Grande railroads. One of Franktown's historic structures is the Rock Ridge Ranch Barn, one of the last existing structures made by pegged, post and beam construction (a type of construction where wooden beams are fitted together at the corners like jigsaw puzzles). This type of construction ended with the invention of the wire nail around 1900.
