Discover Peyton

The Great Outdoors

Peyton’s close proximity to the southern Rocky Mountains makes it the perfect destination for visitors looking to soak in Colorado’s natural beauty. The area is most famous for the Garden of the Gods - an area with stunning sandstone rock formations in northern Colorado Springs. Visitors to the park can hike along trails that wind through these astounding formations, and rock climbers can enjoy many climbing routes throughout the park. Peyton is also just a short drive from Pikes Peak - the most easily-accessible 14,000-foot peak in Colorado. Hikers can summit the mountain on a variety of trails, which range in difficulty, or you can drive up the mountain to a recreational area near the top. If you’d prefer not to maneuver your Peyton rental RV up the mountain roads of the Pike National Forest, you can take a shuttle to the top.

In addition to these famous destinations, Peyton is also close to a number of other scenic state and regional parks. Cheyenne Mountain State Park is a short drive southwest of Peyton and Colorado Springs, and this massive state park features over 21 miles of multi-use trails as well as an on-site archery range. The Broadmoor Seven Falls, which have been featured in National Geographic, are just north of Cheyenne Mountain, making this short-but-stunning hike a worthwhile stop. If you’d rather stay closer to town, check out the Paint Mines Interpretive Park in Calhan. This small archaeological park features captivating geological formations as well as evidence of human life dating back thousands of years, and visitors can go on a four-mile interpretive hike through the park. With your rental RV in Peyton, you’ll easily be able to see all of these natural wonders.

RV Parks

As a hub for outdoor adventuring, Peyton has plenty of RV parks in and around the city. Cadillac Jack’s and Falcon Meadow are closest to Peyton, and both are conveniently located along Highway 24. Cadillac Jack’s RV Park has plenty of on-site stores and restaurants as well as pull-through spaces and a dump station. Falcon Meadow offers a more comprehensive slew of amenities, such as full hookups, wireless internet, and laundry. These options are great for RVers looking for a convenient home base to set up camp with the Peyton rental camper, as they are just a short drive away from Colorado Springs and mountain parks.

You can also camp with the Peyton travel trailer rental near many of the state and regional parks in the Colorado Springs area. For easy access to Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods, check out the Pikes Peak RV Park or the Garden of the Gods RV Resort. The Pikes Peak RV Park is located in the heart of Manitou Springs, which is just west of Colorado Springs. This park has full-service hookups for your Peyton motorhome rental, as well as on-site laundry and a convenience store. The Garden of the Gods RV Resort is also nearby, offering resort-like amenities such as two heated pools, wireless internet, and an off-leash dog park. Keep in mind, however, that these parks tend to fill quickly during warm weather in the spring, summer, and fall, so be sure to reserve in advance if you want to park your Peyton rental motorhome at these locations!

Exploring the City

Peyton is an incredibly small town. The town itself only has a handful of shops, restaurants, and gas stations, and the nearest Walmart is a few towns over. However, this town has plenty of character and activities for tourists and visitors, including the historic Black Squirrel Creek Bridge and the Homestead Ranch Regional Park, where visitors can enjoy three miles of hiking along a natural, spring-fed pond. The town’s convenient location along Highway 24 also makes it easy to do some true urban exploration in Colorado Springs, where you can visit the US Air Force Academy and the Old Colorado City or head downtown for dinner and drinks. Unless you head deep into the big city, you should be able to easily maneuver your rental motorhome in Peyton and Colorado Springs.
