Recommendations
One of our favorite longer road trips from the Bay Area is heading north through the giant redwoods or to Yosemite Valley then continuing into Oregon, across Idaho, through Yellowstone, then south through Las Vegas, over to Los Angeles, Joshua Tree Nacional park and back to the Bay Area. It’s an amazing route with redwood forests, mountains, national parks, desert scenery, and iconic city stops all in one unforgettable RV adventure. We recommend reserving campgrounds and RV parks ahead of time, especially during peak season and near national parks.Other things to note
Please plan your route and reserve RV parks in advance whenever possible. We recommend staying in designated RV parks so you can fully enjoy electric, water, and sewer hookups. My wife and two kids had the best time, and so much of that came down to how smooth the whole experience was. From the start, the owners were incredibly communicative and flexible — exactly what you want when you're coordinating a family trip. Check-in and check-out were seamless and stress-free, which set the tone for the whole weekend. The RV itself was spotless. You could tell real care went into keeping it clean and well-maintained. And for a diesel Class C, the fuel efficiency genuinely surprised us — a nice bonus on top of everything else. If you're on the fence about renting this rig for a family trip, don't hesitate. We'll absolutely be booking again.
