Southwestern Connecticut is home to the scenic Lake Zoar, a perfect getaway for a motorhome camping trip. With over 900 acres of water to enjoy, camping at Lake Zoar is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts looking at a few days of unwinding in the midst of scenic natural surroundings. Lake Zoar is a reservoir on the Housatonic River and is formed by the Stevenson Dam. Bordering the lake’s shores are the towns of Monroe, Newtown, Oxford, and Southbury. Book an RV in Fairfield County, CT to help you move around easily in the area.

Created by building the Stevenson Dam that was used for impounding the Housatonic River, Lake Zoar was primarily used for generating hydroelectric power while the dam itself was an engineering marvel of Connecticut. To this day, it generates massive amounts of power in the region. Lake Zoar extends for 10 miles, and also serves as a hub for watersports and boating in the state.
