The Great Outdoors

The best part about a motorhome rental in Preston is getting out and being at home with nature and the freedom to go wherever you please. For nature lovers, consider starting at Pachaug State Forest. The largest forest in the Connecticut system covers over 27,000 acres of land. The perfect place for hiking, nature watching, biking, or just casually exploring the trails before a nice picnic. You could also check out the Fort Shantok Archeological District where this state park preserves the culture of the Mohegan tribe that used to call this land home. Then travel down to the Stoddard Hill State Park Scenic Reserve and see the beautiful aquatic side of Connecticut. If you enjoy fishing, a variety of plants, or just a tranquil atmosphere this spot is for you.

My husband and I came over from the UK to visit my family for 10 days. 5 of them we spent in Valkyrie—and we wish it could have been longer! It was a wonderful way to travel around parts of New England and spend 12 hours taking a typically 3 hour trip following the CT river instead of highways to Vermont. The owners were so kind and helpful walking us through everything at the start and we’re available during our rental with patience. The bed is so comfortable, the kitchen is stocked with everything we needed to cook and clean, and the entire back section runs on solar panels, allowing us to charge things and cook without wasting the battery. It was safe and easy to drive. We have fallen in love with the camper van life now and are looking for our own to have over here in the UK—comparing everything we see to Valkyrie. The one thing we wanted to try and didn’t get to was their on-board projector and screen. We planned on using this but the time just flew. I do hope the next person is able to because it is a beautiful touch. If you are looking for a rental, we recommend this one for sure! Thank you for everything guys! We will be back I’m sure!
