Discover Oskaloosa RV rentals for memorable road trips

According to local lore, Ouscaloosa was a Creek princess who married a Seminole Chief, whose name was Osceola. Tradition held that her name meant "last of the beautiful," but that turned out to be an incorrect translation. It actually meant "black rain." However, the name of Oskaloosa, Iowa is derived from this tradition, and it was officially settled in 1844 when William Canfield established a trading post here, having moved it up from the Des Moines River. When you book an RV is Oskaloosa, you'll find yourself in a beautiful region of the country.

The camper was great. The listing stated “Fully stocked kitchen + linens included”. There was NOT a kitchen towel, dishrag or dish soap which I would think would be included in the description. There also was no garbage can or garbage bags. He knew we were coming from Michigan, an 8 hour drive. Then in the bathroom there was one partial roll of toilet for a 3 day stay. Friday afternoon I went to use the stove. I couldn’t get it to light. I contacted the host, but no reply. When he finally replied he said he was having trouble getting my messages, so I gave him my phone number. He never called. I had my nephew come look at it. Turns out the gas’s was NEVER turned on!!! Then after dinner I went to wash dishes, no hot water! I contacted the host but didn’t get his reply until the next day!!! We went back out and turned the gas on and had hot water! I was able to wash the dishes with a towel, dish cloth and soap I borrowed from my sister.

Overall our trip was great and they were very accommodating. I was just a little disappointed on the cleanliness of the camper. The floors were definitely not cleaned before we arrived. Overall was a good time and I would rent from them again!
