This festival is an annual event with great music, food, and vendors. Young musicians can vie for a spot on the festival’s main ticket or be invited to play on the acoustic barn stage. The festival boasts three stages for music lovers to drift from performance to performance and learn more about the new bands in the area. The main ticket does usually boast a few national and regional performers that help draw in the tourists. Make a trip to the Ontonagon Lighthouse. This lighthouse has been skillfully preserved and is a part of the Keweenaw National Historical Park network. The lighthouse is cared for by the Ontonagon County Society. Visitors can tour the grounds and snap some breathtaking photos of this historic lighthouse. The Caledonia Copper Mine sits on the northern side of Caledonia Bluff and overlooks the Flint Steel River valley. The copper mine is near Mass City and was first discovered by Native Americans. A treasure trove of copper artifacts have been unearthed here. The Caledonia Mining Company began working the mine in 1863 with only two shafts that went about 200 feet deep. The Red Metal Exploration obtained the mineral rights for the mine in 1985. The mine site was then improved to allow guests to visit and tour the mine. In 2013, the Caledonia Mine was sold and expanded to accommodate more tourists.
