With Lake Bronson at its heart, Lake Bronson State Park offers an idyllic escape from busy city life. Located in Minnesota, near the towns of Karlstad, Hallock, and Greenbush, camping at the state park will give you an adventure that you’ll remember for the rest of your life. The lake was created in 1936 to motorhome camping solve the problem of a drought, while also solving the problem of lack of recreation in the area. There are many hiking trails to explore in Lake Bronson State Park, which caters to all different abilities. The picnic tables allow for a comfortable alfresco dining experience, plus there are playgrounds to help keep the children entertained. Camping at Lake Bronson State Park

The state park RV campgrounds at Lake Bronson State Park are a great place to spend the night, as you'll have immediate access to the huge range of recreational activities available when you wake up in the morning. Overall there are 162 campsites available, catering for a range of different camping styles. The sites are split between three campsites, Two Rivers, Lakeside, and Lakeside Extension, all of which have toilets, shower facilities, and a dump station, plus all have access to drinking water.

For those that don't want to camp directly in the camp, another option for those that rent a camper near Lake Bronson State Park is Voyageur's View Campground. This family-owned campground has wooded sites along the riverbank, all of which come with picnic tables and fire rings with electric and water hook-ups. There is also a bathhouse with showers and a place to pick up some groceries ice, firewood, and souvenirs.

Exploring the Area

Get a stunning view of the beautiful Red River Valley from the Pembina Observation Tower. From here, seven floors above the ground, visitors can see a full 360 degrees. From this lofty position, you'll be able to see the surrounding farmland and evidence of the region's historic sites.

To learn more about the area, head to the Pembina State Museum, home to several permanent and temporary exhibits. Inside are 100 million years of the region's history, from fossils to the fur trade industry. You'll also be able to investigate the history of frontier military forts and the people that have called the area their home. There is a 1000 square foot space that hosts rotating exhibits that highlight specific events throughout history.

The Valley Corn Maize can be a great place to head with the family. Open seasonally, the venue creates a brand new 15-acre corn maze every single year, where half the fun is getting lost. Great for a family adventure, there are plenty of other attractions on-site such as a corn box, giant slide, air blasters, and in the fall, some of the biggest pumpkins you'll ever see.
