The Great Outdoors
Collect your travel trailer rental in Hermann and drive it north to Graham Cave State Park in Danville. The cave was excavated in the 1950s and became the first archaeological site in the USA. Inside, evidence of Dalton and Archaic Native American tribes was found. Visitors can take the paved Graham Cave Trail to enter the mouth of the cave or learn about these early settlers from interpretive exhibitions. The 386-acre area includes the Graham Cave Glades Natural Area. This can be explored on foot using the Fern Ridge Trail. The natural space is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including hummingbirds, deer, and prairie lizards. This state park is also set up with picnic areas and a riverside boat ramp.
