Moose Brook State Park is located near the small town of Gorham, in northern New Hampshire. This is a fairly rural part of the state. Moose Brook meanders throughout the park and is the namesake for the attraction. There are many trails found throughout Moose Brook State Park. They vary in both their difficulty and length. Most of these form loops that can be combined with others throughout the park if you so desire. Some even connect to trails that travel the forestland outside the park boundaries. Reservations can only be made at the campground at the park during the busy summer season, Memorial Day through Columbus Day. The rest of the year campsites are rented on a first-come-first-serve basis. Pets are allowed at the park but not on the beach or the swimming areas. Bathrooms, showers, and potable water are available for guests during the summer season, as well.
White Birches Camping Park is also located nearby. This campground is open from around the first of May through the middle of October. It offers sites that provide a variety of hookups, a laundry room, bathrooms, and showers. Pets are also welcome here. As it provides easy access to so many fun activities, plenty of people enjoy RV camping at Moose Brook State Park, so it shouldn't be hard to locate any services you may need.
When you book an RV in Coos County, you will find unique places to visit that all the members of your group can enjoy. There are several museums located in Gorham. The Douglas A. Philbrook Red Barn Museum discusses the history of the Mount Washington Auto Road. It even features some antique vehicles that used to attempt the road's sharp curves and high altitudes. The Gorham Historical Society and Railroad Museum highlight the history of the area. It also features how the railroad industry has affected the local culture. State park RV camping makes it easy to find the hidden gems scattered around a local region.
Should you enjoy scenic drives, there are several nearby. The Mount Washington Auto Road is a toll road that takes you to the summit of this infamous uplift, the tallest in the Northeast. You can tour the Observatory Weather Discovery Center that is found there. The drive is considered quite challenging. If you would prefer, you can make reservations with local vendors for tours that will take you to the top. At the summit, you will have 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. This mountain is known for some of the most extreme weather in the country.
The Conway Scenic Railroad departs from North Conway, which is around 30 miles south of the park. From here, you can ride on a historic, steam train that offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains as it meanders through the local countryside. Some themed dinner and holiday trips are available at given times of the year, as well.
