Croton Point Park is nestled on a small peninsula that stretches into the Hudson River about 25 miles northwest of Greenwich. The park is 500 acres of peaceful, forested riverside, and provides space for both tents and RVs. There are several full-service RV hookups, but only with 30 amps. Several options for recreational activities exist literally steps away from your doorstep at Croton Point Park, including boating, fishing, and hiking. There?s also a boat launch if you?re hauling your own watercraft. Croton Point Park also has a nature center that hosts weekly events and organizes other programs throughout the year. The site itself is conveniently located near the junction of Interstate 9A and the Hudson River Line, making public transit readily available if you want to go to nearby cities like New York, or any of the other outlying New England communities. Iconic locations like Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown mark the way south to Yonkers, the Bronx, and finally Manhattan.
If you are looking for something fun to do for the whole family, head over to Greeley Park in Nashua. It covers 125 acres, and dominates the north end of Nashua. It is covered by woods and open spaces, and the Merrimack River flows through it. It's a beautiful place to spend a day, so why not bring a picnic or use the grills which are available all over the park? The trails are great for walking or trail running. This park is far enough away from urban areas to feel like you've left it all behind, but Southbury, Connecticut is only a ten minute drive away.
