Some Henderson campers might find themselves wanting to be near the water. If you bring a boat with you, you can make use of the boating ramps and enjoy the 24-hour access boating experience. On the other hand, if you'd prefer to go sailing instead of boating, you can make use of the winds here as well. You'll want to be careful, as large waves and sudden wind changes aren't unusual. Anglers will be pleased to know that this is one of the best fishing lakes in the entire eastern United States, full of striped bass, largemouth bass, white perch, crappie, and catfish. Swimmers can also get their exercise in while at this park with the many open areas along the shore. Do be advised that there are no lifeguards, though.
