Millersburg is a village in Holmes County, Ohio. It was first planned in 1815 for what would become the “Old Town;” plans for the “New Town” were developed in 1824. Holmes County was established in 1824 and was largely populated by Dutch and German immigrants. In 1863, many of the Holmes County citizens denounced the forced conscription to fight in the war, stating that forced recruitment was why they had left their home countries for America. Today, Holmes County has one of the largest Amish communities in the world, which is an attraction for many of the tourists who come.

The Great Outdoors
Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area is a multi-purpose natural reserve providing wildlife sanctuary and limited public access. A significant portion of the area is marsh and is managed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Ducks Unlimited who have built dikes and nesting areas to increase the marsh size and encourage warblers and barn owls to stay. River otters and trumpeter swans were introduced and have increased to sizable populations. Visitor can hunt, fish, and nature watch in select areas, but the refuge is off limits.

Millersburg has a long history and some very unique attractions to visit, starting with a local glass museum. There is a Victorian house that provides tours explaining the architecture of the period, an authentic Amish home that welcomes visitors, and an antique emporium that connects to a toy store, offering visitors a glimpse of items both old and new.

We had a such a great time this weekend with this rental! Shaq was a great host who had us all set up for a great trip and had everything you would expect to need for camping packed and ready to go! Camper was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for our 18 month old to run and climb around on the bunk beds and the space between the dinette fit our pack and play perfectly to put him down for bed and naps. Towing set up was a breeze as this camper was super spacious but very light on towing and towing hitch provided by host made our trip effortless. Will definitely rent from Shaq again!

Leon and Ruth completely changed my mind about camping — this was glamping at its finest! Their communication was amazing, and the best part was that they had the movie Cars available, which is currently the #1 movie my nephew watches on repeat. We had such a great experience, and I’ll definitely be booking with Leon and Ruth again the next time we head back to Ohio for a camping trip!
