Discover Wyandotte RV rentals for memorable road trips

The little community of Wyandotte sits in the northeastern corner of Oklahoma, near the border of Missouri and Kansas, and not far from the city of Joplin, Missouri. It’s an incredible location, far from the hustle and bustle of metropolises like Tulsa and Oklahoma City. While few tourists consider visiting the vast rural expanses of the state, it’s a place of immense beauty and is full of opportunity for outdoor recreation thanks to the Neosho River, which was dammed to create the massive Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees not far from town.

The Great Outdoors

Choosing a motorhome rental in Wyandotte is one of the best ways to explore nature when traveling through northeastern Oklahoma. Wyandotte sits at the confluence of the Neosho and Spring rivers, which makes it a very popular spot for fishing, particularly for bass and walleye (be sure to get the proper state license first). Some of the best spots to catch them can be found at the nearby Twin Bridges and Honey Creek recreation areas.

RV Parks

As with most things in Oklahoma, RV parks can be pretty spread out. One of the closest places to park your rig when you book an RV in Wyandotte is Twin Bridges Area at Grand Lake State Park. Their sites have electrical hookups, fire rings, and volleyball courts, but most campers come for the excellent fishing. There’s even a boat ramp, supply shop, and a fish processing station available.

Exploring the City

Wyandotte is a very small town, so you’ll almost certainly need to drive over to some of the nearby towns if you want to find any attractions. Fortunately, the Wyandotte area sits along the historic Route 66. If you’re a gearhead of any sort, you’re going to love the Route 66 Vintage Iron Motorcycle Museum in the town of Miami. They’ve got old Harleys, Indians, a couple of Kawasakis, and a great exhibit on Evel Knievel that is sure to bring back some memories if you’re of the “Easy Rider” generation. But even if you’re not, you’re sure to appreciate this wonderful museum as a fascinating slice of Americana.

We had the BEST first camping experience thanks to Skylar and Elizabeth! As total newbies to RV life, we were a little nervous going in—but they made everything so easy. They walked us through every detail, explained everything clearly, and were incredibly responsive whenever we had questions. Communication was truly top-notch from start to finish.

This was a first time for me driving across states. The Solis handle well & had the extra power to climb some of the higher road way.
