While in Astoria, consider checking out Fort Astoria. The fort was once used by John Jacob Astor’s Pacific Fur Company as a way to collect fur and transport it across the country, particularly to St. Louis. This structure is believed to be one of the first American settlements in the area. Visitors can tour the grounds where they’ll see old structures and interpretive signs that tell more about the fort’s history.

Take a trip over to Portland with your motorhome to explore the Portland Japanese Garden. Spanning 5.5 acres long, the garden celebrates Japanese culture with various plants and a tranquil tea house.
