Getting Outdoors

There are plenty of things to do outdoors while at Oswald West State Park. One is fishing. The park is situated near many waterways, including the Cape Falcon Marine Reserve. The reserve only allows fishers to stand on the shoreline but is packed with a variety of different species. Keep in mind that since this is a protected area, there are a few off-limit spaces. You could also head over to Nehalem Bay to try catching salmon or to search for clams.

Camping at Oswald West State Park

When you book an RV in Tillamook County and stay at one of the many travel trailer campgrounds situated near the park. One option is the Tillamook RV Park. This RV campground offers amenities such as WiFi, electricity, and water. The park is also surrounded by fruit trees and features a playground, petting zoo, fish cleaning station, and free coffee stations.

Exploring the Area

There are numerous destinations to explore nearby if you’d like to check out the surrounding area during your stay. In Cannon Beach, there’s the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this lighthouse was built in 1881 on a towering piece of basalt rock as a way to help guide ships to land. While the lighthouse is no longer in operation, visitors can still see this structure from afar or take a helicopter ride to it. In addition to this, the lighthouse is surrounded by the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, which is often filled with seabirds and seals.
