Starting in White Plains, the route east along Interstate 294 takes you past Tarrytown of Sleepy Hollow fame, over the Hudson River, and finally through the vast expanse of Harriman State Park to reach the campground in scenic Orange County. This is the closest full-service RV park to New York City, but the wooded environment and quiet ambiance never gives that away. There?s plenty of tourist information available on the site, for both the city and the surrounding wilderness, and while visiting you can enjoy plenty of modern amenities. Every spacious site has full utility hookups, fire rings, and picnic tables. The venue is connected to several hiking trails and nature walks, and if you want to relax near your home on wheels, there?s a swimming pool, game room, basketball court, and scheduled special events hosted by the park.
