The famous Appalachian Trail runs directly through the forest, and hikers can enjoy a 12.5 miles segment of it when making use of the campgrounds. The trail follows the Kittatinny Mountain Ridge along a rocky and sometimes narrow pathway. However, by following this tricky terrain, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. In addition to this main trail, there are also 33 miles of trails through the forest, all of which vary in length and difficulty. Many of these all connect with each other, offering hours of hiking fun before heading back to the campground.
