The name likely derives from an Algonquian language, which was spoken by the indigenous native Americas of the area. Another story claims that it is the Algonquin word that means ‘three-cornered lake.'

Like most of the lakes in the area, Lake Nuangola is a very popular fishing lake. It brings people from all over the area and further afield to go RV camping at Lake Nuangola and try their luck in the water. Expect to catch largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, crappie, walleye, sauger, and catfish. For the best chance of catching some catfish is to get a rental RV in the summer months, as this is when many catfish species spawn, such as blue catfish, flathead catfish, and channel catfish. If possible, head to areas where there are sunken barrels, fallen trees, and holes in the bank.
Camping at Lake Nuangola
While there is nowhere to go motorhome camping directly on the shores of the lake, when you book an RV in Luzerne County, PA, you will find that there are plenty of options nearby. A good option is Council Cup Campground, a great place for RV and tent camping in the Pocono Mountains. There are over 100 campgrounds here, right by a range of hiking trails and a stunning 25-foot waterfall. There are also plenty of amenities in the campground itself, such as mini-golf and volleyball courts, an ice cream store, fire rings, a dump station, and shower houses. Each of the RV sites come with electric, water, and sewer hookups for a comfortable stay.
Exploring the Area
Head to Claws and Paws Animal Park to see some incredible animals so close. With huge creatures such as African lions, black bears, and magnetic tigers to smaller creatures, including cute capybara, gibbons, and beavers. You could spend hours at the animal park saying hello to all the species there, especially in the petting zoo where you can feed and touch some of the creatures. Kids can dig for dinosaur bones in the Dino Dig area, plus visitors have the opportunity to feed the parrots and giraffes.

Jacob was a great host. The pickup and drop off were very easy. He explained everything about the RV, and he was available to answer questions about the RV during the trip. The RV was the perfect size for 2 people, and it could have slept 4 people. It was easy to drive and got good gas mileage. The RV would practically new. Jacob also included many items for cooking and camping in the RV. I would highly recommend renting this RV.
