The zoo covers nearly two-hundred acres and is home to six and a half thousand animals encompassing four hundred species, great for lovers of the animal world. Alongside the zoo’s exciting animal exhibitions, there is also the Grassmere Historic Home. This early 19th-century house is also on the National Register of Historic Homes.

Families with young children should take a visit to the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. This center offers children a wide range of interactive exhibitions that allow them to learn through play. Each hands-on exhibit and display cover a range of topics from biology, physics, earth science, listening, and air & space.
