Camper's Paradise RV Park

Northwest of Campers Paradise RV Park and an easy drive in your rental RV is Lake Arrowhead State Park. It’s the perfect spot for a day of outdoor fun and activities. The park is at the northwest end of the 16,000-acre Lake Arrowhead, which has a shoreline of over 106-miles and gives you access to swimming, fishing, boating, and other water sports. There’s also an 18-hole frisbee golf course to get you active! Anglers will find plenty of fish, including crappie, perch, catfish, and bass. If you don’t have your own fishing gear, you can borrow some at the park under the Tackle Loaner Program. Once you’ve caught your dinner for the night, there are several well-marked hiking trails in the park to explore and work up an appetite. With six public boat ramps, getting out on the water is easy, and boat rentals are available locally. Texas is known for its vast prairies, but much of this has vanished for various reasons. To the northeast and northwest of Dallas and Fort Worth are two protected grassland areas. Caddo and Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands are used for grazing cattle, but also provide valuable habitat for wildlife, and excellent recreational activities. Expect to see a variety of wildlife during your visit, including white-tailed deer, coyotes, bobcats, and fox, plus plenty of wild birds, particularly songbirds. Within the grassland areas are several lakes, well-stocked with fish. Fishing is allowed, but you will need a permit. Lyndon B. Johnson Grassland area has almost 75-miles of trails, from the trailhead at Tadra Point. The trails are open to hikers, mountain bikers, and some are also for equestrian use. It’s a beautiful area to explore, and generally flat, so easy for the whole family to get out and discover the wildlife and flowers of Texas.
