Lubbock KOA

Park your rental motorhome at Lubbock KOA, and you’ll have easy access to a variety of attractions and entertainment options that are not far behind Lubbock’s counterparts in the Texas Triangle. Whether you're into music, the arts, history, or heritage, the city has a trick or two up its sleeve to surprise you. As the birthplace of rock legend Buddy Holly, Lubbock is rightly proud of its famous native son. More than a storehouse of his musical legacy, the Buddy Holly Center also celebrates other performing artists and musicians of West Texas and promotes visual arts produced by artists in the region. Step inside the center and see an impressive collection of Holly memorabilia, including an intact 1950's house of The Crickets' drummer J.J. Allison where he and Holly wrote many of the band's hits. Lubbock is home to Texas Tech University (TTU) whose Public Art Collection has been named one of the best university public art collections in the United States. Leave your Lubbock camper rental at the campground and take the Citibus to view the university’s outdoor exhibits, which range in construction and material from stainless steel abstract sculptures to stone gateways to bronze statues and installations. Along this vein, the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA) also displays a revolving exhibit of works – paintings, portraits, and photography – by local, national, and internationally known artists. Its self-guided First Friday Art Trail brings together collectors, artists, and galleries for a public art showcase of exhibits in all media. In the campus of TTU, the National Ranching Heritage Center takes you back to the 18th century for a glimpse into frontier life and ranch work in the South Plains. Walk the 1.5-mile trail to marvel at the collection of original buildings – from mud huts to prairie houses – that were built to meet the needs of the early homesteaders. In the spring, summer, and early fall, you will be greeted by volunteers dressed in period clothing to answer your questions and demonstrate period crafts. In the vastness of the West Texas Plains, Lubbock, like the artifacts that archaeologists have dug up in the area, is a gem of a find. So make the most of your RV rental in Lubbock, Texas, and let it take you to places that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.
