The laid-back, mid-sized city of Lufkin is located north of Houston and Beaumont, close to the Louisiana state line. Lufkin has a typical history for the area, as it was founded in 1882 as a railway stop on the way to Houston from Shreveport. Formerly known a Denman Spring, the city was renamed Lufkin after a wealthy cotton merchant who helped in the town's development.

The Great Outdoors

One of the best forests to visit is the Davy Crockett National Forest, named after the pioneer famous for exploring the area. This RV rental with Cory was great! Everything went as planed and the RV is very nice. Everything was as described and ready. It was a perfect camping trip. Fast communication from Walter. Trailer was set up and kitchen was filled with all necessary items for camping. I inquired about the type of coffee maker as we like a Keurig. He was quick to put a Keurig in the trailer for us. All we had to bring was our food and drink. Everything was great!
