RV Rental Dinosaur National Monument, UT

Visitors should be aware that there is very little shade found throughout the park and temperatures can exceed 100-degrees during the summer.

The Green River runs through the park, making rafting popular here when water levels are high enough. Usually, the best time of year to engage in this activity is during late spring and early summer when snowmelt from higher elevations and spring rains help to fill this waterway. As the name of the monument would suggest, this part of the state was the home to dinosaurs many millennia ago. From the Visitor's Center, you can drive, walk, or take a free shuttle to the enclosed Dino Quarry. There are several scenic drives available throughout the park and the surrounding countryside. Many are appropriate for passenger cars, though a few are recommended only for high-clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicles. It should be noted that most of the roads are dirt, and any of these can quickly become impassable in wet conditions. The roads traverse the many prairies, deserts and canyons found locally and offer picturesque views of this scenic area. Hiking trails, historical spots, and picnic locations are available along the length of many of these routes.
