Getting Outdoors

Covering just over 200 acres, Big Bass Lake provides plenty of opportunities for a day of wild swimming, excellent fishing, or a relaxing boat ride. Those motorhome camping with their own boat in tow can visit the park office to pick up a license for their vessel, whilst those who require a rental can hire one from one of the many outlets dotted around the shoreline. Accessing the lake’s waters is easy, thanks to a double ramp public boat launch that can be found in Bass Lake Park. There is also a public beach and designated swim zone in the park for those who wish to enjoy a refreshing dip.

Camping at Big Bass Lake

We spent a little over two weeks traveling from Minnesota to Shenandoah, Great Smoky Mountains, and Mammoth Cave National Parks. We put on over 3000 miles, 500 miles on mountain roads (Skyline Drive, The Blue Ridge Parkway, and Hwy 441 through the Great Smoky Mountains), and our van handled the climbs, descents, and curves easily. There were plenty of ports to charge electronics. The cooler-sized refrigerator is very handy, no need to keep finding ice. Storage under the bed is tall enough for good-sized duffel bags and/or small suitcases. The two nights it rained, we were happy to hear the pitter-patter on the roof, knowing we wouldn't have to pack up a wet tent before moving to our next campground.

Great van and customer service! Few minor issues - heater shut down in middle of the night, couldn’t figure out how to turn water on, no coolant. Thanks for the trip!

We truly enjoyed our month long trip through the UP. Serenity Now was everything we expected and more. It was equipped with everything we needed, and Isaac and Shannon were so easy to work with - great communication and engagement. We would happily rent from them again!
