Located in the southern Savanna Region of Wisconsin is where you will find the popular Fox Lake, a natural, glacier-fed lake known for its great fishing and abundance of recreational facilities. Although the lake is naturally formed, it was enlarged in 1845 by the building of a dam and sawmill on Mill Creek, which is an outlet of the lake. This significantly added to the surface level of the lake, and it now sits at around 1625 acres, with almost 18 miles of shoreline to enjoy. There are seven islands in this body of water, which range from 2 to 11.9 acres, the smallest of which is both Lone Island and Dead Island, while the largest is Brushwood Island.

Around the 18 miles of shoreline is the City of Fox Lake itself, as well as the communities of Lyndon Dale and Delbern Acres. Heading out from Fox Lake slightly are the larger towns of Waupun, Beaver Dam, and Cambria. Book an RV in Dodge County, and see what all Fox Lake has to offer. The lake has two public parks, Clausen Park, which is the City of Fox Lake, and Town Park, located on its northwest side.

Getting Outdoors

Those that are RV camping on Fox Lake can access it from one of the few public boat launches located around the shores. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a variety of boating activities, such as getting an adrenaline rush water skiing or exploring the islands by canoe or kayak. There are several places where you are able to rent a boat, which can be handy if you don’t have your own.

Fishing is popular all through the year at Fox Lake, and the lake is known as one of the state’s top 10 fishing lakes in the state, especially when it comes to walleye. Every year, over 700,000 fish are pulled out of Fox Lake, including walleye, crappie, northern pike, bluegill, muskie, and large and smallmouth bass. Fox Lake is regularly stocked by the Fox Lake Property Owners, so you don’t have to worry about stocks depleting. Ice fishing is also very popular, meaning people can get an RV rental at any time of year.

Hiking trails around the shores allows visitors to explore the surrounding countryside with ease. When winter falls, the fun doesn’t stop, as the area can be enjoyed via snowmobile and cross-country skiing.
