Discover Oakville RV rentals for memorable road trips

Looking for a more laid-back vacation spot in beautiful Washington state? Oakville is a small village in central Washington with respect to both its physical size and population. Oakville was once nothing but open prairie maintained by local tribes of indigenous people. In the latter half of the 19th century, several families of settlers made their way to Washington all the way from Illinois. This would eventually open up the doors for a booming economy spurred on by agriculture and timber harvesting. The arrival of a railway further legitimized the town and cemented its legacy as a permanent settlement.

Experience the Sites and Scenery

Washington is a state of unparalleled natural beauty, known for its massive mountain ranges and lush evergreen forests. Even Oakville’s name pays homage to the Garry oak trees that are commonly found in the Pacific Northwest. On the northern edge of town, Capitol State Forest is an easy place to visit and you hardly need to leave the comfort of your Oakville camper rental. At just over 90,000 acres, this sprawling forest has plenty of open space for recreation. Miles and miles of trails wind through the forest, making for excellent hiking, biking, and off-roading on ATVs or dirt bikes. The unusual Mima Mounds of Capitol State Forest are one of a handful of examples in the world of a rare geological feature akin to little evenly spaced bumps in the ground.

City Attractions

The town of Oakville is quite small and not the type of town that has big city attractions. Fortunately, the state capital Olympia is a 30-minute drive away and can easily be visited should you feel the need to go shopping, visit a museum, or experience city nightlife. The Washington State Capitol Building is a must see when you visit Olympia. Both the new capitol building and the old one are within a few blocks of each other. The new capitol building’s campus is full of cool exhibits and wonderful memorials, like the Washington State Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Olympic Flight Museum is all about aviation, which is appropriate considering that the state is home to Boeing, one of the largest manufacturers of planes in the world. An amazing collection of different planes and jets can be seen while you tour the museum and there are frequent flight shows to showcase what they can do.

Great trailer and great host! This was our second time renting this trailer for the Washington Spring Fair, and it did not disappoint. When our son shows an animal at the fair, staying in the fair campground is incredibly convenient. We rented this trailer last year because it had everything we needed, was comfortable, and the host was so easy to work with—setting everything up for us and picking it up when we were done. As soon as we knew we were coming back this year, this was the first trailer I checked for availability. On our first night, it was pouring rain, and it was wonderful to relax inside, sit by the fireplace, and watch a movie. Although our son is graduating this year, if we ever do this again, I would rent this trailer again without hesitation.

We couldn't have asked for a nicer experience with Edward and his family's travel trailer. It was immaculate, organized, and extremely well-appointed! They delivered to Dosewallips State Park right on time, and we were very communicative throughout, even checking in on us mid-stay to ensure we were comfortable.

We had a great time with the camper van and the interior was decorated very nicely! We took the van around Oregon and overall it was a smooth ride. All accessories for cooking and cleaning were available and provided, and the fridge inside was fairly large for a camper van so we cooked a lot of meals outside! The bed was comfortable and clean with sheets / blankets provided, and the induction stove was nice for any cooking we did (water boiling, pan frying, etc)! We had a lot of fun doing this camper van trip and Jennifer made that a pleasant experience for us!
