RV rental Point Reyes National Seashore, CA: Motorhome rentals, camper van rentals and more

Beaches are a main draw at Point Reyes National Seashore, with more than 80 miles of pristine coastline to explore. Limantour Beach is one of the most popular stretches of sand, offering easy parking and exciting wildlife watching opportunities. Keep an eye out for harbor seals playing in the waves, gray whales breaching offshore, and elephant seals basking on the rocks. Drakes Beach is hemmed in by soaring white sandstone cliffs and enjoys plenty of sunshine, even on foggy days. If you're RV camping with a dog, it's worth visiting Dillon Beach. It's not officially part of the Point Reyes National Seashore, which means pets are welcome. For a dramatic photo opportunity, head to the wind-battered Point Reyes Lighthouse. Access is via a steep staircase that leads down to a rocky ledge. Be sure to pack layers and warm clothing, as even warm summer days can be quickly interrupted by wind, rain, and fog. Birders shouldn't miss Abbotts Lagoon on the western shoreline. From June to September, the lagoon is an important nesting site for endangered snowy plovers. If you want to see the park's majestic tule elk and colorful wildflowers, head to Tomales Point. The 10-mile Tomales Point Trail winds along the clifftops of a narrow peninsula and commands sweeping views over the Point Reyes coastline. The Bear Valley Visitor Center offers a great introduction to the seashore and its unique coastal ecosystem. Kids love the interactive exhibits spotlighting whales and wildflowers. Bear Valley is also a starting point for trails that wind through towering Douglas fir and Bishop pine forests.
