Lock Haven isn't packed with big-city attractions, but you will find a few quirky places to visit when you rent a camper in Lock Haven. One such destination is the Piper Aviation Museum. In the early 1930s, Lock Haven became the home of Piper Aircraft Corporation, owned by William Piper, who was known as the "Henry Ford of airplanes." Visitors can tour the company's former engineering and development facility, where they can view some of the company's vintage aircraft. Another must-see for history buffs visiting Lock Haven is the Heisey House Museum. This gorgeous 19th-century home has worn many hats over the years. First, it was a tavern before it was converted back into a residential dwelling. Then, it became a medical practice and is now a museum. The founder of Lock Haven once lived here, so Heisey House is an excellent attraction for those interested in local history. Tours are available on select Saturdays and by special appointment. Art enthusiasts of all mediums will want to add The Station Gallery to their Lock Haven itinerary. You never know what you'll find at this homegrown gallery, whether it's 3D art or interactive photo installations. Exhibitions change monthly, and The Station Gallery often hosts holiday shows, classes, and workshops. Check the events calendar to see what's happening at The Station during your visit. The gallery is open on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Once you've explored this quaint college town to your heart's content, hop in your RV rental in Lock Haven, grab some grub at one of the fast food restaurants in town, and get some gas before hitting I-80 to continue your road trip.
