You would be hard pressed to find a more ideal place to rent an RV than Prescott Valley, considering the abundance of parks, recreation areas, and forests within a half an hour's drive of town. Lake Pleasant Regional Park is as good a place as any to start off your Prescott Valley RV rental trip on the right foot. The park revolves around the waters of Lake Pleasant, a large reservoir that supplies the Phoenix metro area with water. There are over 20,000 acres of water, lakeshore, high desert, and hiking trails around the lake that you can traverse. Mountain biking, hiking, boating, and fishing in the lake are wonderful ways to get your fill of fun while visiting the park in your Prescott Valley travel trailer rental, and there are numerous lakefront camping sites available too. Prescott National Forest shares its name with Prescott Valley and is one of the two nearby national forests that surround the town. There are eight wilderness areas and a bevy of campgrounds where you can camp in the mountains of Prescott National Forest if you feel like staying a few nights in your Prescott Valley camper rental. Horseback riding, off-roading, mountain biking, and hiking are the most popular ways to get around the forest, and there are plenty of high mountain lakes to swim in if the heat is too much to handle. Coconino National Forest is the other sprawling nature area to the east of Prescott Valley, with nearly two million acres of pristine landscapes. The park has nearly everything you could imagine, with towering mountain peaks, high desert, alpine lakes, pine forests, and ancient volcanoes. There are ten sprawling wilderness areas to trek through and lots of mountains to hike, like the San Francisco Peaks, the eroded remains of a decimated volcano. Perhaps one of, if not the most, famous parks in the country, Grand Canyon National Park is an epic testament to the sheer power and beauty of nature. People come from all over the globe to witness the sun pouring its golden rays over the steep canyon walls of the park, gazing out into the gaping chasm in the Earth caused by millions of years of erosion. You can climb down to the canyon floor and white-water raft on the raging Colorado River or climb some of the park’s rock faces and features. There is no limit to what you can see at this stunning national park and it is definitely worth staying a few extra nights to camp out when you rent an RV and head to the Grand Canyon.
