Tucked right along Route 60 between Phoenix and Wickenburg is Wittmann, Arizona. Many of the residents here consider Wittmann to be outside Phoenix’s metropolitan region, even though it still remains “technically” inside its boundaries. The town was first called Nadaburg, which basically combined two words. The first, “nada,” is Spanish, meaning essentially nothing and the German word “burg,” which means town. The area was not opened to homesteading until the Department of Interior Act of December 29, 1916, that allowed people to move into this region and begin settling their families. When you book an RV in Wittmann, you’ll be far enough away from the major metropolis that is Phoenix to still enjoy the country living atmosphere, but close enough to enjoy some incredible wonders this state offers.
