This trailer is the ultimate road tripping tow trailer for two adults and a child (or two younger children sleeping on a twin mattress) who have a tow vehicle with a tow rating at or above 3500lbs. You can pull over just about anywhere, turn on the A/C, and sleep for the night. The Nucamp TAB 400 is what happens when you fuse Ohio Amish craftsmanship with modern, European styling. Equipped with a true queen-sized bed, 24" TV and entertainment center, full kitchen, larger wet bath and second sleeping area. In addition, the TAB 400 features some of the most innovative components in the RV Industry. This trailer is designed to be towed behind a mid-sized SUV or truck. It weighs in at about 3000 lbs tow/500 lbs hitch fully stocked for a trip with water and basic essentials. This unit is the king of boondocking on paved and maintained roads.Additional features include: Energy-efficient Heat Pump Central Air Conditioning, Alde® Central Heat & Hot Water System, 24″ TV/DVD/AM/FM/Bluetooth®, 2-Way Fridge, Spare Tire, and Electric Brakes.Integrated Victron Lithium Battery System:
- 400 Watts of Rooftop Solar
- MC4 connectors on front and rear of trailer for two additional solar arrays for up to 1600w additional. (400w roof top, 600w rear port & 900w front port) For example, I travel with 400w of fold out panels (optional for rent) to plug in once I setup camp as well as 750w of solar on my tow vehicle truck bed rack. I get around 6kwh while traveling and 9kwh while camping per sunny day. This allows me to camp entirely off the grid without ever running the generator.
- 10.2 kwh of lifepo4 lithium battery storage allowing 6 straight hours of off grid air condition without a generator. In moderate weather without the air conditioning it will last several days or you can plug-in at a friends house, campground, or run the generator to refill the batteries in a few hours and boondock again for several days. Or add additional solar panels and never plug in to anything.
What's includedRental includes fresh linens, pots, pans, plates, cups, utensils, toaster, microwave, blender, four camp chairs, electric drill for dropping stabilizers, awning, equipment for draining/filling tanks, and blocks for stopping or leveling the tires. Honda 2200i generator is optional.RecommendationsThis trailer isn't designed for off-road overlanding. Please stick to paved or smooth gravel roads. A trailer is still a house on wheels so stuff moves and bounces around during transit, plan accordingly. The weight of the trailer full of water, with the bike rack (empty of bikes), and with the generator is about 3000 lbs and a tongue weight of 500 lbs. Please add the weight of your bikes to the tongue to verify sufficient tongue weight capacity of your tow vehicle.Other things to noteDriving a trailer is a unique experience even when it is a large lite-weight teardrop trailer. If you turn your tow vehicle hard right the trailer front end swings hard left and its tail swings hard right and vice versa. Many people forget this and turn hard coming out of a gas pump and actually clip the pump barriers. Not fun. Additionally, the trailer cuts corners closer than the tow vehicle. Its best that you be very careful, have a spotter (or two) when backing up, allow plenty of space all the way around the trailer, and have experience in towing a travel trailer before renting one. Additionally, its handy to watch a few videos on travel trailer driving mistakes online before attempting a trailer rental.

Q.What mpg should I expect when towing this trailer?
A.
This can vary greatly based on number of hills you climb and the wind resistance. Wind really matters. I tow behind a 6' tall Toyota Tacoma that gets 20 mpg typically. While towing it ranges between 8 and 16 mpg. Climbing a hill into a very strong head wind reduces your mpg significantly. On the other hand following an 18 wheeler, having a strong tailwind, or towing with a tall 9' travel van makes a big difference especially if it is sprinter diesel van.

Q.Is this a four seasons trailer?
A.
The short answer is not yet. It is really designed for spring, summer, and fall but not really winter. Or at least not winter in below 30 degree weather. I plan on installing undercarriage insulation and tank warmers in the near future but until then I would avoid exposure to sub 30 degree temperatures for extended periods of time.

Q.What is the heating system in the trailer?
A.
The trailer has two heating sources. For heating between 35 F and 70 F the air conditioner/heat pump is the most energy efficient heating source. If heating between 20 F and 50 F or with limited electrical capacity the trailer is heated by the Alde Hydronic propane heating system. The Alde system also heats the sink/shower water at all external temperatures.

Q.What appliances are stocked in the trailer?
A.
The trailer has a microwave, 4 qt Instapot, toaster, induction cooktop, and small blender for your use.
