Boating enthusiasts can launch their watercraft from the boat launch ramp at the Greenbo Lake State Park. in case you don’t have your boat, rentals for pontoon boats, rowboats, canoes, and kayaks are available at the park. 

RV camping at Greenbo Lake State Park is incomplete without a hike around the park. Explore over 25 miles of trails that loop around the Greenbo Lake and other parts of the Greenbo Lake State Park. 

There’s a 10-acre scuba refuge area for divers to explore at Greenbo Lake State Park. Open from April to October, you need to be a certified open water diver to dive in the lake. 

Camping at Greenbo Lake State Park

The campground has 58 equipped sites, and 36 primitive sites. Amenities at the campground include pull-thru sites, big rig access, tent camping, full hookups, 30 and 50 amp electric service, sewer, water, a dump station, central water spigot, WiFi, and cell phone coverage. There are restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Bring your furry friends along and let them make use of the designated pet-area. Kids will love splashing about in the swimming pool, and running around in the playground. Explore the recreational trails, or go boating. 

When you’re looking for a place to camp in an RV near Greenbo Lake State Park, drive to neighboring Argillite to the Ashland/Huntington West KOA. With over 150 sites at the campground, amenities here include pull-thru sites, big rig access, tent camping, full hookups, 30 and 50 amp electric service, sewer, water, dump station, central water spigot, WiFi, cell phone coverage, and cable television. Campers have access to restrooms, shower stalls, laundry facilities, a camp store, a café, and a pet area for your furry friends. With a pool and a playground, the kids will have a blast. There’s a recreation room too, and mini-golf and fishing. 

Exploring the Area

Located about 20 miles from Greenbo Lake State Park is the home rule-class city of Ashland. Situated right by the southern bank of the Ohio River, Ashland makes for a fun weekend getaway. 

Stop by at the Highlands Museum and Discovery Center during your RV rental vacation. Housing 11 permanent exhibits that are interactive and hands-on, it offers an interesting learning experience for visitors of all ages. Don’t miss the ‘River Expedition,’ ‘School of Daze,’ and ‘Tree House of My Own’ exhibits in particular. 

Ready for some fun in the bowling alley? There are a couple of popular bowling alleys in the area like Blue Ribbon Lanes, and Colonial Lanes in nearby Huntington. Colonial Lanes boasts of 34 wooden lanes. 

Check out the artwork of local and regional artists at the Aladdin’s Art Gallery. Showcasing an array of artworks in a variety of mediums, the gallery also has a small gift boutique selling jewelry, artwork, decorative pieces, and unique clothing. 

Also in Huntington is the Museum of Radio and Technology that features a very cool radio classroom, a modern ham radio ‘shack’, and an electric transmitter among its exhibits. Check out the gift shop for some rare radio finds. 

Bourbon favorites, great steaks, and even better seafood – that’s what Ashland is known for on the food front. Try out some of the local joints that specialize in the southern fare. You’ll also find plenty of fast food joints and restaurants dishing out international cuisine. 

Pick up supplies for the road from a local convenience store, and fill up your rental RV at a gas station before you hit the highway to your next destination.
