Yatesville Lake State Park offers a wealth of recreational activities. Yatesville Lake State Park is packed with action and adventure, and once you’ve soaked in all there is to enjoy at the park, consider driving to some of the neighboring towns and cities in the area. The city of Winchester is about 126 miles from Yatesville Lake State Park and offers another green and serene experience. 

The Daniel Boone Forest is at the edge of Winchester and is home to several reservoirs, canyons, waterfalls, and the famous Sheltowee Trace Trail that runs for over 300 miles. 

Within the city, you have the Lynkins Park, offering 40 acres of sprawling green openness, baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, a skating park, and a playground. Spend the day out with the kids enjoying the facilities at the park.

Get an insight into the history of central Kentucky at the Bluegrass Heritage Museum. With themed rooms and quilted exhibits, the museum offers an interesting glimpse into the area’s vast history.
